Down Syndrome Awareness Walk

The purpose of the walk was not only to raise money for Down Syndrome but also to promote acceptance and inclusion of people with Down syndrome.

I believe it is so important to educate the public to respect and include people with down syndrome or people with any disease for that matter. Each of us have the power to shape a persons life experience-let's make it a positive one!!

I had such a wonderful time meeting each of the families. I also helped work the Team Judging table-what a blast!

Nevada/California Regional Phi Theta Kappa Fall Honors Conference!

Please see below a picture taken with Ty Cobb, former special Assistant to President Ronald Reagan. Cobb was one of the guest speakers Alpha Phi Gamma booked for the NV/CA Phi Theta Kappa Regional Fall Honors Conference.
Many of you may recall I am a Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society member! Phi Theta Kappa is the official two year college honor society and is internationally known for  recognizing outstanding academics. Phi Theta Kappa members rank in the top 10% of their colleges. I was elected President of my college chapter (Alpha Phi Gamma) and our group hosted the NV/CA Regional Fall Honors conference!
Planning this conference took many months and hard work to coordinate. Our group had to arrange everything from registration forms, meal catering, guest speakers, goodie bags, and other logistics of planning a conference to bring college honor society members from California and Nevada together for Leadership.
I am proud to say it was a huge success thanks to the time, effort, and commitment of everyone involved!

Catch you next time!
